Metro Nashville Softball Association begins its sixth season

April 23, 2012 O&AN Staff Reports   Comments

On Sunday, April 15, the 15 teams of the Metro Nashville Softball Association played their first games of the sixth season.

Formed in 2007 with nine teams under the supervision of League Commissioner Kerry Pogue, MNSA grew to over 20 teams within its first two years and has averaged 16 to 18 teams since 2009. That growth is a testament to Pogue’s original mission for the league to promote amateur athletics with special emphasis on the participation of the GLBT community in an atmosphere of friendly competition.

Now overseen by Commissioner Kevin Riddle, the 15 teams are divided into two divisions based on players’ performances and abilities.

The D Division teams are

  • Alcoballics
  • Blaze
  • Flash
  • Fury D
  • Holy Trinity Angels
  • Misfits
  • Pink Panthers
  • Mean Streak
  • Rage
  • Twin Kegs

The C Division teams are

  • Chaos
  • Force
  • Fury
  • Stars
  • SWAT

The MSNA teams play Sundays at Nashville’s West Park. For more information and each week’s schedule check out www.hometeamsonline.com/MNSA
