Intimate performance of "The Drowsy Chaperone" tonight at Play

February 10, 2010 O&AN Staff Reports   Comments

In a special cabaret performance tonight, the cast of the hilarious "The Drowsy Chaperone" will appear at Play Dance Bar at 10:30 p.m.

The event will benefit Nashville CARES as crowd favorites including Janet, a showgirl and bride-to-be who just can't stop showing off, bring alive the show known for winning the most 2006 Tony Awards of any musical on Broadway.

The show is playing at TPAC through February 14 and comes to life as a die-hard, ambiguously gay musical fan plays his favorite cast album, a 1928 smash hit called "The Drowsy Chaperone," and the zany events of the story play out in his apartment.

Play is located at 1519 Church St. Tickets to see the show at TPAC can be purchased here.
