Later this month Dance Theatre of Tennessee brings to life one of the most famous and well loved classical ballet story of all time - Swan Lake.

Swan Lake tells the story of Odette, the Swan Queen who is a beautiful princess under the spell of an evil sorcerer. She transforms from her human body into a swan during the day. Many others are under the same spell, becoming swans during the day. In order for the spell to be broken, Odette must win the eternal love of a young man. If she does not find true eternal love, she will remain a swan forever.

DTT will present this timeless classic as part of its opening season series titled "At 75 - A Tribute to Elaine Thomas," DTT’s Assistant Artistic Director. As Ballet Mistress to many prominent companies around the world, guest artists from Ballet West, Pennsylvania Ballet, Texas Ballet Theatre, Australian Ballet and others will add their artistry and accolades to this very special celebration.

The October 1 performance is preceded by a special reception where guests can help toast the wonderful contribution of Thomas alongside special Principal guest artists and the Dance Theatre of Tennessee family.

Presenting several Nashville premieres of well-loved ballets from international choreographers, this tribute, “promises to be an evening of celebration and gratitude." Performances will be held at Harpeth Hall Auditorium on Friday, Sept. 30 and Saturday, Oct. 1 at 8 p.m.
